2020 Updates

Update as of Dec. 2, 2020

The State CIF office sent out a press release on December 1, 2020 stating that Season 1 has been postponed until the state of California has changed their Youth Sports guidelines to allow for competition to begin.

You may view the press releases here:

  1. State CIF Statement (12/1)

  2. San Diego CIF Section Memo (12/1)

So, as of now we will NOT be beginning our season on December 12th. CIF has not specified when they might hear word from the California Department of Public Health and/or if/when those guidelines might be changed to allow for competition. CIF is stating that they don't expect to hear anything from the State until after January 1, 2021. But that date might not be providing any new information anyway. Once we have word on when/if we can start our season, we will post on the website.

2020 Tryouts

Due to the announcement from the State CIF office on 12/1/2020, our start date has been delayed again with no official word as to when we might start.

So tryouts are TBD.

Eligibility Requirements

The end of the Trimester 1 report card grades will be used to determine eligibility for our season. So by the end of Trimester 1, each player will need to (1) have at least a 2.0 GPA, and (2) be passing a majority of their classes.

So for example, if you are taking 5 classes, you must be passing at least 3. If you are taking 4 classes, you must be passing at least 3. And if you are only taking 3 classes, you must be passing at least 2.

These are CIF and the District's bare minimum requirements in order to be eligible to play. So Ds are still considered "passing" according to CIF and the District. As many of you know, our program emphasizes higher standards than Ds and we would prefer C's or higher, but that is not required for eligibility concerns.

It is with great pleasure that we highlight the Rose Family's foundation, Camp Korey, which honors their son, Korey, who lost his battle with bone cancer at the age of 18. Camp Korey recently moved to its new facility to beautiful Mount Vernon, WA and serves children and families living with serious medical conditions. Camp Korey's mission is to honor the courage, strength, and determination of children and their families living with life-altering medical conditions by providing them with a fun and safe experience in a camp environment with specialized medical support. We are honored to have their support and hope you will pay their website a visit to learn more about this great cause!
